Androsace sempervivoides

Androsace sempervivoides, Himalayan alpine plant in dense mats with sempervivum-type rosettes and bright pink flowers with yellow eye
Androsace sempervivoides

Native to the rocky slopes of the western Himalayas, from Pakistan to Nepal, between approximately 3,500 and 5,000 meters.

The name refers to the resemblance of its rosettes to those of a Sempervivum : spatulate, rigid, slightly ciliated leaves, forming flattened and dense rosettes. Spreads by short stolons, forming compact mats.

Bright pink flowers with a yellow eye, grouped in umbels of 3 to 8 flowers on stems 3 to 8 cm tall. Blooms from April to June.

One of the hardiest and most accommodating Himalayan androsaces in cultivation.
